stadiums
The stadiums for national hockey league games are wicked big and have thousands of seats and areas for people to sit and watch the games. The seats are very close together and go as high as 100 plus feet above the ice surface. The snack bars and ice cream shops are the best though. nothing can beat the stadium food. stadiums are the reason we can go to games.
NHL - Minors
The nhl has a minor league system as do many other sports. Basically all it is is teams go and get enough players to make two teams so that they can have a "major league" team and a "minor league" team. The minors league gives players a chance to show what they can do at a lower level in hoping that one day the coach will notice them and call them up for the big boy team.
Ice surfaces
In order for hockey to be played on ice without cracking, the ice must be around 3 to 4 inches of solid ice. You might think one or two might be fine but just to be sure. A good 3 or 4 inches is a must. The ice surfaces that professional hockey players play on is artificcially made so it is not like skating on a pond. It is made by carefully putting water down every day for about a month. this is done so slowly so that air bubbles dont form in the ice and so that it is perfect for the best players in the world to play on.

Hockey sticks
The sticks in the old days used to be made of wood. Some players still use wooden sticks today but that time has mostly come and gone. The new material is hallow composite.
goalie pads
If you havent noticed yet, or just dont watch hockey. The goalies have different pads then the forwards and defenseman. Goalie pads allow the goalie to have more protection against the puck. The goalies job is too stop the puck so big pads help. The pads cant be too big though, because the goalie will then not be able to move.
